Ridge Holland Says Everything Was Adlibbed For His WrestleMania 39 Promo | 411MANIA

In a recent Fightful interview, Ridge Holland shared some behind-the-scenes details on the filming of his chest-waxing promo for WrestleMania 39. The video was a clear homage to a scene from the 2005 Judd Apatow film The 40-Year-Old Virgin, but the majority of the lines delivered were entirely unscripted. You can find a few highlights from Holland and watch the entire interview (and re-visit the WrestleMania promo) below.

On the preparation process for filming: “That was the main thing, really. My call time was 7:30 am and the rest of the boys in the shoot were like 12:30. So I was told this hair would take upwards of three or four hours to put on. I got there, it took forty five minutes to put the hair on. Bear in mind there’s other things being shot, so I’m stood in the canteen or the catering area, no shirt on, horrible Steve Carell dad jeans and this wooly mammoth-esque chest. People are walking through the thing. I’m sat down. Obviously, I’m not that inconspicuous as it is and they’re looking at me like, ‘Who’s this hairy guy with terrible jeans on sat down in catering?'” Uni Wax

On the improvised element of the shoot: “What people won’t know is that shoot when we got to the nitty gritty in shooting that, everything was adlibbed. Everything that came out of my mouth was just off the cuff. The same for Sheamus and Drew. It was just good fun. It was nice to be able to go out there and not have any parameters and just let loose, really. It was one of the highlights of the year, to be honest. Good fun.”
